Privacy Policy for Balkanski Muslim Dating

Welcome to Balkanski Muslim Dating ("we," "us," "our"). Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect from you ("user," "you," "your") when you use our mobile application and services (collectively, the "Service"), how we use that data, with whom we share it, and your rights in relation to it.

By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

To provide you with a safe, personalized, and effective matchmaking service, we collect the following categories of information:

a) Information You Provide Directly:

  • Registration Information: Your email address. If you use Google Sign-In, we collect basic information from your Google account (name, email, profile picture) for the purpose of account creation.
  • Profile Information: Basic details (first name, date of birth for age calculation, gender, city, and country of residence), photos and videos (including a video introduction), physical attributes (height, weight, body type), religious & cultural information (prayer practice level, alcohol consumption habits, and other values), education & career (education level, profession, income range), lifestyle information (smoking habits, hobbies, languages spoken, marital status, number of children, willingness to relocate, MBTI), and essay questions (self-descriptions, ideal partner, family).
  • Verification Information: Tier 0 (selfie) for automated facial analysis and comparison; Tier 1 (video) for liveness detection and speech analysis.
  • Communications with Us: Messages sent to our customer support system.
  • Transaction Information: Transaction ID, product purchased, and time of purchase for Premium subscriptions or token purchases. We do not collect or store your credit card details. Payments are processed by Google Play and Apple App Store.

b) Information We Collect Automatically:

  • Usage Data: Interactions with the Service (viewed profiles, likes, passes, matches, chats, timestamps).
  • Device Information: Device type, OS and version, unique device identifiers (e.g., IDFA/AAID), IP address, language settings.
  • Location Information: Geolocation (latitude/longitude) to show nearby profiles. You can control access in device settings. If you use "Virtual Location," we will temporarily use that location.
  • Log Data: Error and crash logs to improve stability.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and maintain the Service: Account creation/management, profile display, matchmaking, processing interactions, purchases, and Premium activation.
  • Personalize and improve: Analyze usage to enhance UX, algorithms, and features.
  • Safety and fraud prevention: Identity verification (selfie/video), automated moderation (e.g., Amazon Rekognition), and activity analysis to prevent fraud, spam, and abuse; investigate and address reports and disputes.
  • Communications: Administrative messages (e.g., magic-link login, purchase confirmations), push notifications about profile activity (opt-in), and customer support responses.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your data. We share information only in the following cases:

  • With other users: Your profile is shared according to your settings; matched users can chat.
  • With service providers: Trusted third parties with limited, purpose-bound access, including:
    • Hosting & Database: Microsoft Azure (EU region).
    • Content Moderation: Amazon Rekognition (AWS).
    • Authentication: Google LLC (Google Sign-In).
    • Push Notifications: Firebase (Google LLC).
    • Payment Processing: Google Play and Apple App Store.
  • For legal reasons: As required by law/court order; to protect our rights/property; to prevent or investigate wrongdoing; or to protect the safety of users or the public.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal information as long as needed to provide the Service and for the purposes described here, or until you request deletion.

Upon account deletion, we begin permanent erasure, which may take up to 90 days. Certain information may be retained for limited purposes such as legal compliance (e.g., tax records) and fraud prevention (e.g., an identifier to prevent creation of new accounts by banned users).

5. Your Rights and Controls

  • Access and Update: Manage most profile data in-app.
  • Deletion: Permanently delete your account in the app settings.
  • Device Permissions: Manage location, camera, notifications via OS settings.
  • GDPR Rights (EEA): Access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact us to exercise these rights.

6. Security of Your Data

We use technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If we learn that we collected such data without verified parental consent, we will remove it.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy. We will post updates here and revise the Effective Date; we may also notify you in-app or by email. Please review periodically.
